What Could Tee Higgins’ Cryptic Instagram Post Mean for His Future?

We are almost in the month of June, and star wide receiver Tee Higgins is still without a new contract with the Cincinnati Bengals. With his absence from veteran OTAs, it is becoming increasingly doubtful that he will receive one.

His recent Instagram post further fuels this skepticism. In the post, Higgins shared a cryptic caption that hinted at potential criticism, stating, “I tell ’em no, they can’t wait to call me selfish.” This could be interpreted in various ways, as professional football players often use social media in ambiguous ways.

However, given the context of Higgins’ situation with the Bengals and his desire for a deserving contract, the connection to being labeled as selfish is hard to ignore. As an elite athlete in his prime, Higgins has every right to expect fair compensation, regardless of the team’s salary constraints.

While Higgins may just be sharing a random quote, the looming Bengals training camp in two months suggests a prolonged holdout is likely on the horizon.
