Week 15 NFL Regular Season Rooting Guide for the Philadelphia Eagles

Week 15 of the 2023 NFL regular season is here. To accompany your viewing experience, let’s run through a Philadelphia Eagles-focused rooting guide for all of the games.

Eagles Game

PHILADELPHIA EAGLES at SEATTLE SEAHAWKS: With an Eagles win, their chances of clinching the No. 1 seed improve from 19% to 31%. With an Eagles loss, their chances go down from 19% to 6%.

NFC Playoff Picture

The current standings via ESPN:

• SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS at ARIZONA CARDINALS: For the Eagles to have a chance at getting the No. 1 seed, they need the 49ers to lose at least one game. Root for the Cardinals.
• DALLAS COWBOYS at BUFFALO BILLS: Despite currently ranking second in the NFC East, the Eagles control their path to winning the division. But it’d still be nice to see Dallas lose to give Philly more margin for error. Root for the Bills.

Eagles Draft Pick Watch

• NEW YORK GIANTS at NEW ORLEANS SAINTS: The Eagles own the Saints’ second-round pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. The Birds will be hoping that selection is as early as it can realistically be. As an added bonus, the Giants winning serves to damage their draft positioning. Root for the Giants.
• ATLANTA FALCONS at CAROLINA PANTHERS: The Eagles want to see a non-Saints team win the NFC South. Root for the Falcons.
• TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS at GREEN BAY PACKERS: The Eagles want to see a non-Saints team win the NFC South. Root for the Buccaneers.

Damaging Draft Position for the Giants and Commanders

The current 2024 NFL Draft order for non-playoff teams via Tankathon:

• WASHINGTON COMMANDERS at LOS ANGELES RAMS: The Commanders are tanking. They want to loss. It’d be nice to see them win and damage their draft positioning while also helping the Rams improve theirs. Root for the Commanders.
• CHICAGO BEARS at CLEVELAND BROWNS: Need the Bears to stay ahead of the Giants and have the chance of moving ahead of the Commanders in the draft order. Root for the Browns.
• NEW YORK JETS at MIAMI DOLPHINS: Need the Jets to stay ahead of the Giants and have the chance of moving ahead of the Commanders in the draft order. As an added bonus, Miami winning helps to improve Philly’s strength of victory tiebreaker. Root for the Dolphins.
• HOUSTON TEXANS at TENNESSEE TITANS: Need the Titans to have the chance of moving ahead of the Giants and Commanders in the draft order. Root for the Texans.
• KANSAS CITY CHIEFS at NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS: Need the Pats to stay ahead of the Giants and Commanders in the draft order. Root for the Chiefs.

• BALTIMORE RAVENS at JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS: I’m rooting for Doug Pederson to lead the Jags to back-to-back AFC South titles.
