Week 14 of the 2023 NFL regular season is here. To accompany your viewing experience, let’s run through a Philadelphia Eagles-focused rooting guide for all of the games.
EAGLES GAME
PHILADELPHIA EAGLES at DALLAS COWBOYS: With an Eagles win, their chances of clinching the No. 1 seed improve from 45% to 67%. With an Eagles loss, their chances go down from 45% to 34%.
NFC PLAYOFF PICTURE
The current standings via ESPN: SEATTLE SEAHAWKS at SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS: In order for the Eagles to get the No. 1 seed, they’ll need to have a better record than San Francisco since the 49ers now have a head-to-head tiebreaker over Philly. Root for the Seahawks.
DETROIT LIONS at CHICAGO BEARS: The Lions losing keeps them away as an outside threat to the No. 1 seed. Root for the Bears.
EAGLES DRAFT PICK WATCH
CAROLINA PANTHERS at NEW ORLEANS SAINTS: The Eagles own the Saints’ second-round pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. The Birds will be hoping that selection is as early as it can realistically be. Losing to Carolina would drop the Saints’ division record to 1-3 and their playoff chances down to 9%. Root for the Panthers.
TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS at ATLANTA FALCONS: With a Falcons win and a Saints loss, we’ll see Atlanta at 7-6 and New Orleans at 5-8. And that’s with ATL currently owning the head-to-head tiebreaker over NO. Root for the Falcons.
DAMAGING DRAFT POSITION FOR THE GIANTS AND COMMANDERS
GREEN BAY PACKERS at NEW YORK GIANTS: The Giants winning only serves to damage their draft position. (Also, the Packers losing is preferable if they’re the No. 7 seed and the Eagles drop to the No. 2 seed since Green Bay is looking like they could be dangerous as a wild card team.) Root for the Giants.
LOS ANGELES RAMS at BALTIMORE RAVENS: The Rams probably can’t get ahead of the Giants or Commanders in the draft order. But a loss makes it more feasible than a win does. Root for the Ravens.
INDIANAPOLIS COLTS at CINCINNATI BENGALS: The Bengals have a better chance of getting ahead of the Giants or Commanders in the draft order. Root for the Colts.
HOUSTON TEXANS at NEW YORK JETS: The Eagles want the Jets to stay ahead of the Giants and move above the Commanders in the draft order. Root for the Texans.
MINNESOTA VIKINGS at LAS VEGAS RAIDERS: The Raiders could conceivably finish ahead of the Giants and/or Commanders in the draft order with more losing. Root for the Vikings.
DENVER BRONCOS at LOS ANGELES CHARGERS: The Chargers could conceivably finish ahead of the Giants and/or Commanders in the draft order with more losing. Root for the Broncos.
TENNESSEE TITANS at MIAMI DOLPHINS: The Titans could conceivably finish ahead of the Giants and/or Commanders in the draft order with more losing. Root for the Dolphins.
WHAT’S LEFT
JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS at CLEVELAND BROWNS: Doug Pederson vs. Jim Schwartz!
BUFFALO BILLS at KANSAS CITY CHIEFS: The Bills host Dallas in Buffalo next week. One could argue a Bills win here keeps Buffalo surging for a playoff spot. Or one could argue a Bills loss makes Buffalo a very desperate team in Week 15.
