The Eagles Are Back at Training Camp

The Eagles are back at practice for the second time this week, and Tuesday brings the first fully padded training camp practice. All NFL players look good in shorts, but the helmet and full pads allow players on the roster bubble to separate themselves. Position battles are starting to heat up, and cornerbacks Quinyon Mitchell, Isaiah Rodgers, and Kelee Ringo have ample opportunity to make a statement while covering A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith. With the Day 5 of practice set to begin, we’re looking at five things to watch.

Five Things to Watch

  1. Saquon Barkley
  2. The Eagles are used to facing Barkley twice a year during his tenure with the Giants, but he’s on the home team now, and Tuesday gives fans and media the first look at the running back.

  3. Jordan Davis and Jalen Carter
  4. The dynamic duo from Georgia has added responsibility with Fletcher Cox retiring. Jalen Carter looked dominant early on and will be a player to watch when the pads come on.

  5. Nakobe Dean
  6. Dean is battling Zack Baun for the starting linebacker spot opposite Devin White, and the first padded practice offers the former Georgia All-American a chance to make up ground.

  7. Mekhi Becton
  8. The big ticket is a massive man standing 6′ 7″ and 364 pounds. If he can prove his dominance in the running game as an offensive guard, he could be the Week 1 starter.
