Following a trade that took them out of the first round weeks before the draft, the Texans secured their top picks from the second round. Both draftees are now officially under contract with Houston.
The Texans finalized the signing of the No. 59 overall pick, Blake Fisher, as per KPRC2’s Aaron Wilson. Fisher, a tackle prospect, agreed to a four-year contract and will be joining veterans Laremy Tunsil and Tytus Howard in the offensive line rotation.
Georgia cornerback Kamari Lassiter was also added to the roster with a pick acquired from Minnesota, while Fisher was chosen with the Texans’ own second-round selection. Fisher, who played right tackle at Notre Dame, will be competing for a starting role with the team. The Texans have faced injury issues on the offensive line in the past, making depth a priority.
Fisher’s collegiate success with Notre Dame and his decision to enter the draft early highlight his potential, especially in a tackle-rich class. With the rest of the draft class now signed, the Texans have solidified their roster for the upcoming season.
