Cowboys
- Cowboys WR Jalen Tolbert shares his journey of regaining confidence after a hamstring injury: “My rookie year, I think I lost almost every bit of my confidence. Coming off a hamstring injury in OTAs and then trying to catch up, and then just moving around, playing every (WR) spot.” (Jon Machota)
- Tolbert reflects on his mindset shift: “I was thinking way more than I should instead of just going out there and having fun, knowing that I belong here, that I’m valuable at this level and can play very high at this level. That’s something that I had to build back up. … It’s completely different now. It’s a 180. I’m confident. I’m having fun.” (Machota)
- Dallas LB DeMarvion Overshown gears up for a successful season after adding weight post-knee injury: “That was more of a me thing. Seeing my future in this league and what was going to be best for my body and being productive on the field. … Gaining lean mass, muscle weight, getting stronger. … I’m gonna go into camp a little bigger and drop to where I want to play at, which would be around 233 pounds.” (Machota)
- Cowboys LB Eric Kendricks adapts to changes in DC Mike Zimmer’s defense: “Obviously I have a lot of experience in it. We’re doing things a little bit differently. We’ve added a lot of things, so I’m still learning. I’m still trying to check my ego. I don’t know all the answers.” (Machota)
- Kendricks highlights the potential of the defense: “But at the same time, I have a lot of experience. I know the weaknesses, I know the strengths of this defense. I know what it’s capable of. We have a lot of guys on this team who haven’t really played in this defense. They don’t even know yet, but it suits them very well, so I can’t wait to see it.” (Machota)
- Cowboys HC Mike McCarthy gives an update on DE Micah Parsons who hasn’t been a full participant at OTAs: “Micah has been in and out. Spent a lot of time with him Friday. He looks great. He’s in excellent shape. He hasn’t missed anything.” (Jon Machota)
Eagles
The Eagles sign RB Saquon Barkley in free agency, boosting their backfield. OC Kellen Moore praises Barkley’s skills and potential impact in the offense.
“Saquon is a premier running back, first and foremost,” Moore said. “We’re really excited about his ability to run the football. Obviously behind this offensive line, he’s done a tremendous job. They have such cohesion and done a great job up front. He’s going to be a great running back.”
“We know the aspects that make him great. It’s his ability to be a great pass protector, to be a receiver out of the backfield. He does a phenomenal job with those things. Obviously, we’ve got to try to utilize him as much as we can while understanding it’s a long season for running backs.”
