With the 2024 UFL season wrapping up this weekend and the championship game between the Birmingham Stallions and San Antonio Brahmas on the horizon, players in the league are now eligible to work out with NFL teams and potentially sign NFL contracts starting Tuesday. Several names have emerged as potential NFL signees to keep an eye on in the coming week.
One early name in the mix is wide receiver Daewood Davis, who is expected to sign with the Panthers pending a physical, as reported by Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. Davis had a standout career at Oregon and later transferred to Western Kentucky, where he made a significant impact. Although he went undrafted, Davis signed with the Dolphins as a free agent before ultimately joining the UFL’s Memphis Showboats.
In his 10 games with the Showboats, Davis impressed with 41 catches for 446 yards and five touchdowns, earning a spot on the All-UFL Team. If everything falls into place, Davis could potentially join a talented group of receivers on the Panthers’ roster.
Other UFL rumors making rounds include:
- Alongside Davis, the Panthers are also eyeing the league’s top receiver Hakeem Butler. Butler, a former fourth-round pick for the Cardinals, has had a journey through various teams and leagues before landing in the UFL with the Battlehawks. His impressive performance in the UFL has caught the attention of NFL teams like the Panthers.
- The Giants are reportedly set to host Battlehawks running back Jacob Saylors for a workout. Saylors, who was with the Bengals and Falcons before joining the UFL, has showcased his skills as a top rusher in the league. New York may consider adding him to their running back group following the departure of Saquon Barkley.
