Reed Blankenship and Baker Mayfield Questionable for Eagles-Buccaneers Game: Final Injury Report
The Philadelphia Eagles issued their third and final official injury report on Saturday in advance of their Monday Night Football wild card playoff game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
The Eagles ruled two players OUT: A.J. Brown and Sydney Brown.
News of A.J. being ruled out was first reported earlier on Saturday morning. Not good! The Eagles still have enough talent to win without him … but this is obviously a big loss.
Sydney suffered a torn ACL in Week 18. The Eagles can open up a roster spot by putting him on injured reserve.
Avonte Maddox Acts as Eagles’ Safety Net in Emergency Plan Against Bucs
The Eagles ruled one player questionable: Reed Blankenship.
Nick Sirianni said Reed Blankenship will be a game-time decision. The second-year safety did not practice all week. It’s typically rare for players after not practicing at all. If Blankenship can’t go, that leaves Kevin Byard as the only healthy safety on the active roster. Avonte Maddox has been preparing to play safety this week, so it could be him next to Byard on the back end with Bradley Roby playing nickel corner. The Birds could also look to bring up Tristin McCollum (and Mekhi Garner?) from the practice squad for more depth.
Jalen Hurts, DeVonta Smith, D’Andre Swift, Darius Slay, and Britain Covey are all listed without game statuses.
Is Bill Belichick headed to the Eagles? Mike Florio hints at potential change for Nick Sirianni.
They’re ready to play.
