A pair of four-run innings propelled the Boston Red Sox to a 9-3 victory over the Philadelphia Phillies on Thursday night. This win marked their second consecutive win, securing the three-game series.

All nine Boston players contributed hits, totaling 14 for the team. Jarren Duran and Tyler O’Neill both had two hits each, combining for five RBIs.

After the Phillies closed the gap to 4-3, the Red Sox responded with another four-run inning in the fourth. O’Neill stood out in this inning with a three-run homer over the Green Monster seats.

Both of Duran’s hits were doubles, adding to the offensive performance of the team. Starter Tanner Houck (7-5) pitched six innings, allowing three runs on eight hits while striking out five with no walks.

Reliever Brad Keller pitched three shutout innings, only allowing two hits and a walk to secure his first save for Boston.

Kyle Schwarber (3-for-4, three RBIs) and Whit Merrifield (2-for-3, run) led the offensive efforts for Philadelphia. Aaron Nola (8-3) took the loss after giving up eight runs on 11 hits in 3 2/3 innings.

The game saw a series of back-to-back doubles, including an opening run scored by Enmanuel Valdez and Reese McGuire. McGuire’s deep hit into right field corner brought the score to 1-0, and Dominic Smith’s single to center drove in another run.

The Red Sox extended their lead with another set of consecutive doubles, with Ceddanne Rafaela and Duran contributing. Duran’s hit into right field scored two, making it a 4-0 game.

The game remained close until the fourth inning when the Phillies made it a game with a bases-clearing triple by Schwarber. Boston responded quickly with a four-run inning, led by Hamilton’s RBI single and O’Neil’s three-run homer.

Valdez added to Boston’s lead with an RBI double in the sixth, bringing Rafael Devers home after a one-out walk.
