The New England Patriots have had a surprising start to the 2024 campaign, with a 1-1 record and a plus-three point differential after two games. While it may not be groundbreaking, it’s definitely better than expected for a team that was projected to have the smallest number of wins in the preseason.
Due to their early competitiveness and their history of dominating the New York Jets, bettors are not ruling out the possibility of the Patriots putting up a fight on the road against New York on Thursday evening.
The betting action for the game is evenly split.

At BetMGM, the Patriots have a slight advantage in terms of total bets on the six-point spread, with 52% of bettors choosing them to cover. However, New York has the upper hand in total money wagered on the spread, with 53% siding with them.
The split is nearly equal for the 38.5-point total as well. While both ticket count and money favor the under, it’s only by slight margins of 53-47 and 54-46, respectively.
The one area where there seems to be a clear consensus is in the moneyline bets, with 62% of the money favoring the Jets as the outright winner. Despite the expectation of a close game, bettors do not predict a new winning streak to begin with Bill Belichick no longer leading the Patriots.
