Philadelphia Eagles players express frustration and start to voice their concerns

The Philadelphia Eagles have had an inconsistent start to the season, but the team remained relatively quiet about any internal issues while they were 10-1 and then 10-2. However, with their recent record of 10-4 and following a particularly difficult loss, it’s becoming evident that there is growing discontent within the locker room.

This is certainly not a positive sign for the team.

Recently, Darius Slay responded to fans who placed trash cans outside the NovaCare facility with his name on one of them. Slay defended himself, stating that he had a good game against the Cowboys, but the team as a whole did not perform well.

While this initial response from Slay did not sit well with fans, it was not an isolated incident. Following the Seahawks game, other players such as A.J. Brown and James Bradberry have made similar comments, hinting at larger issues beyond just on-field performance.

Bradberry, in particular, had a difficult game against Seattle, allowing six receptions on six targets, including being beaten on the game-winning touchdown. When asked if he would do anything differently on that play, his response seemed to shift blame away from himself.

[10 second pause] “Nothing really, he just ran past me because I was sitting at the sticks.”

It appears that Bradberry is placing responsibility on the playcalling, which is noteworthy given that head coach Nick Sirianni had recently made changes to the defensive coaching staff.

Similarly, A.J. Brown expressed disappointment but emphasized the need to focus on individual responsibilities. He made it clear that certain aspects of the game are out of the team’s control and that they can only focus on their own performance.

“Everything else is out of our control. We run routes, we get the ball, we catch the ball, we try to make plays. Other than that, we can’t control the other stuff. As much as we don’t like it, there’s nothing that we can do about it.”

The frustration within the locker room is evident, especially when it comes from team captains speaking out as opposed to lesser-known players.

It is clear that the Eagles have a wealth of talent, but their recent losing streak in December raises concerns about the team’s ability to perform during the postseason.
