The Green Bay Packers made it to the playoffs in Week 18 by defeating the Chicago Bears, and continued their unexpected success by dominating the Dallas Cowboys with a 48-32 win on wild-card weekend.
As underdogs, the Packers face the San Francisco 49ers on the road this weekend with a 9.5-point disadvantage.
One bettor, known as Pointsux on X, took a chance on the Packers making it to the NFC finals. This sports bettor, who relocated from Florida to Vegas, placed several futures bets at Circa Sports in November, and now has the potential to win almost $1 million if the Packers win the NFC.
The bettor initially wagered $2,315 on the Packers to win the NFC at 215-1 on Nov. 6. Despite a loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers on Nov. 12, the bettor continued to place more wagers at Circa:
- $500 on Green Bay to win NFC at 400-1 on Nov. 13
- $500 on Green Bay to win NFC at 385-1 on Nov. 13
- $500 on Green Bay to win NFC at 200-1 on Nov. 24
Circa confirmed the authenticity of all the wagers.
With a total of $3,815 in wagers on Green Bay to win the NFC, the potential winnings would be $990,225.
When asked why he believed in the Packers so much, the bettor said, “Circa had the highest futures odds on Green Bay at the time and when I compared it to what I had as the true value of the wager, I thought it was a good price. I’m not a Packers fan by nature, but I said, ‘Hey, let’s take a shot and see if we can hit it big.’”
The bettor shared that he will likely be working on Saturday and might not even watch the Packers-49ers game. If Green Bay wins, he plans to watch the NFC title game at a local casino and has no plans to hedge at this point.
He stated, “As far as hedging goes, I’m not really hedging anything right now. Packers No [to win NFC] is -1400 right now. If they beat the 49ers, at that point I’d look at hedging on the Lions or Bucs. If they end up winning, it’s life-changing money. If they lose, my life will pretty much stay the same.”
Can Green Bay pull off one more upset and bring this bettor one step closer to winning big?
