I put an asterisk (*) next to the 14 teams the Eagles will play this season. Last year around this time, the AFC North held the most former Eagles players. The NFC North has overtaken them. The influence of former Eagles executive and current Bears assistant general manager Ian Cunningham is apparent. Same deal for Andy Weidl in Pittsburgh. A little annoying that two members of the Eagles’ 2017 Super Bowl team, Ertz and Mills, now play for division rivals. The number of former Eagles in the NFC East increased from three at this time last year to nine now. Will be pretty interesting to see how Wentz fares as the Chiefs’ QB2 if Patrick Mahomes misses time. Eric Tomlinson’s career is fascinating to me considering he didn’t make the Eagles’ roster as a UDFA in 2015. He’s gone on make 53 starts in 83 games played. And still fighting to be on a roster this season. Darby reunited with Doug Pederson this offseason. Bummer that BoSco won’t be on the Eagles this year. JMatt still hanging on 10 years after being selected in the 2014 NFL Draft! With a position change from WR to TE. Deontay Burnett’s last NFL catch came during the 2020 season. And yet he’s still only 26 years old! I still believe! Sign him! While we’re talking about potential WR depth signings, why not bring DeAndre Carter back as well? In case you missed it, former Eagle Hakeem Butler was the UFL’s offensive player of the year. Strap! If the Eagles could reacquire one former Eagles player that’s currently under contract, who would you pick? Haason Reddick is the obvious answer for me. If we rule him out, who else are you taking? Who’s one obscure player you’d like to have back? Last year at this time, four teams did not have a former Eagle. Now there’s just one: the Dallas Cowboys. Feels fitting! Is Jason Peters going to play this year in his age 42 season? Or is he finally going to hang it up?
