Notable Snap Counts from Eagles-Buccaneers Game: DeVonta Smith and Brandon Graham stand out for their performance
The official snap counts from the Philadelphia Eagles’ Wild Card loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are now available for review. Let’s take a closer look at the analysis of the game.
OFFENSE
One notable player on offense was Jordan Mailata, who played 100% of the snaps on either side of the ball this season. Despite Jalen Hurts dealing with a finger injury, the offense should have performed better with him playing the entire game behind the starting offensive line. The Eagles did not turn the ball over, yet they were limited to just nine points. Jason Kelce, who played his last snaps as an Eagle, had a disappointing ending to his career with the team.

DeVonta Smith stood out as a standout player with 12 targets, eight receptions, and 148 yards. However, the new Eagles head coach in 2024 will need to find a way to get Dallas Goedert more involved in the offense. Quez Watkins, who talked a big game leading into the game, had a lackluster performance, which may signal the end of his time with the team in free agency.
D’Andre Swift only had four carries in the first half and finished with 10 for 34 yards. Olamide Zaccheaus, who had a great touchdown against the Bills, had limited involvement over the final seven games. Kenny Gainwell had six touches that resulted in just 13 yards. Julio Jones’ Eagles career ended with a concussion, while Marcus Mariota finished the season with 46 total snaps played.
Philadelphia Eagles eliminated in Wild Card loss to Tampa Bay Buccaneers, 32-9: Recap
DEFENSE
The defense saw multiple injuries, which led to Avonte Maddox playing time at safety next to Kevin Byard. Darius Slay was carted off late in the game, and Haason Reddick did not have a sack in the Eagles’ final five games. On a positive note, Josh Sweat had a sack for the first time since Week 9. Jordan Davis, who had a low snap count percentage, finished the year without a sack or QB hit since Week 7.
James Bradberry declined quickly in 2023 after an excellent 2022 season, leading to the Eagles partially benching him in this game. Brandon Graham expressed his desire to return for a farewell campaign in 2024, and he still has the potential to contribute as a rotational edge rusher. Milton Williams had a notable drive-ending sack, showcasing his value as a quality rotational defensive tackle. Nolan Smith, a rookie, showed promise with a drive-ending half sack but could have benefited from more playing time in the 2023 season. Eli Ricks was noted for missing tackles during the game.

SPECIAL TEAMS
Tristin McCollum and Mekhi Garner played strictly on special teams after being temporarily elevated from the practice squad. Braden Mann had a disappointing game punting, despite performing well throughout the season.
DID NOT PLAY INACTIVE
A.J. Brown, Sydney Brown, Reed Blankenship, Rashaad Penny, Moro Ojomo, Tyler Steen, Tanner McKee
ACTIVE:
Shaq Leonard
A.J. Brown was said to be able to play in the Divisional Round had the Eagles made it there. Similarly, Blankenship tried to play in pregame warmups but was unable to participate. It was unfortunate to see Leonard, a previously great player, not have an impact in the game despite being active.
