The offense of the Cincinnati Bengals has struggled against the blitz-heavy, send-em-all defense of the Minnesota Vikings. However, thanks to some exceptional efforts from coordinator Lou Anarumo’s defense, they managed to trail just 7-3 at halftime in a game with crucial playoff implications.
One exceptional effort came from defensive tackle BJ Hill, who turned a potential sack into a drive-killing interception from his own position on the ground. Vikings quarterback Nick Mullens’ attempt to avoid a sack ended up making the situation much worse for himself, as he ended up spiking the ball into Hill’s facemask, resulting in a Bengals’ ball possession. This play left fans and analysts stunned and amazed at its wondrous yet mind-numbingly stupid nature.
Reactions from fans and analysts on Twitter poured in, displaying a mix of shock, humor, and amazement at the play.
after all the dobbs discourse, that has to be the funniest way for Mullens to turn the ball over https://t.co/8O5iQeAu7y

If the Vikings had an even remotely serviceable option at QB, they’d be dangerous
