Bills
The Bills have brought former official John Parry on board in a unique role to assist with rules clarification and replay reviews. Head Coach of Buffalo, Sean McDermott, expressed their appreciation for Parry’s addition to the coaching staff.
“We are very fortunate to have John join our staff,” McDermott said, as reported by Mark Gaughan of The Buffalo News. “You always strive to improve, right? We had a similar position on the staff last season. Now, we have the opportunity to bring in John, who has experience in the role he held in broadcasting over the past few years.”
“I believe that this area is receiving more attention and will play a bigger role in games. You see it every week, right? So, we are constantly looking for ways to enhance our performance in all aspects: reviewing plays, mastering the rules, managing games, and more. From Monday to Saturday, we continue to seek ways to excel.”
Jets
- Head Coach of the Jets, Robert Saleh, believes they have secured an “explosive playmaker” in newly signed RB Tarik Cohen: “Explosive playmaker. Getting back to full health. With the new kickoff rules, he’ll be touching the ball over 100 times a year. We are excited to have him.” (Zack Rosenblatt)
- Saleh mentioned that WR Xavier Gipson will have the first opportunity to be the team’s return specialist, although there is strong competition for the role, as per Rosenblatt.
- Saleh shared that veteran WR Mike Williams (ACL) is undergoing rehabilitation at the facility but did not provide a timeline for his medical clearance, according to Rich Cimini.
Patriots
Patriots LB Matt Judon confirmed that he will participate in mandatory minicamp to avoid any fines.
“Absolutely,” Judon stated. “I’m not giving away any money.”
- Patriots Head Coach Jerod Mayo praised DE Keion White for his impressive performance this offseason. White has taken on a “leadership role” going into his second season, as reported by Mark Daniels.
- Patriots QB Bailey Zappe has been informed by the coaching staff that all quarterbacks are competing for the starting position, but there is a supportive atmosphere within the group: “There hasn’t been any real awkwardness.” (Daniels)
- Patriots QB Jacoby Brissett commended fourth-round WR Javon Baker for his performance in the offseason program: “I believe this is how trust is built; by going out, trying things, and seeing what players can do … He is a good route runner, has good hands, and can make plays like he did today. We are excited to see more of what he can do.” (Mike Reiss)
