Cowboys
Cowboys DC Mike Zimmer is taking over for Dan Quinn in Dallas this season. He is highly respected in the league and aims to lead the defense, already one of the NFL’s best units, to the next level by implementing his own strategies.
“When I arrived, I told the defense that this is a new challenge for me. Typically, I take over defenses that are struggling, but here, they are already strong,” said Zimmer in an interview with ESPN. “So it’s a different situation where we need to build on their strengths and address areas that need improvement. Ultimately, we need to execute things my way. I’ve learned that trying to implement someone else’s system doesn’t work well.”
Eagles
The Eagles offense suffered a collapse towards the end of last season, contrasting with their Super Bowl appearance two years earlier. Philadelphia brought in OC Kellen Moore to bring about change and integrate his offensive philosophies with the team’s current strengths.
“I recognized the strong foundation we have here and the need to preserve it,” mentioned Moore to Fox Sports. “At each stop, collaboration has been key. By merging existing systems with new ideas, we can evolve and improve.”
Giants
Donald Fusilier, the childhood 7-on-7s coach of Giants WR Malik Nabers, highlighted Nabers as the key player in their team, setting a standard for others.
“Nabers was a fierce competitor and a driving force for the team, inspiring those around him,” stated Fusilier in an interview with The Athletic. LSU WRs coach Cortez Hankton praised Nabers for his internal motivation and desire to prove doubters wrong.
“Nabers constantly strives to prove himself and possesses an innate drive to be the best,” said Hankton. Giants GM Joe Schoen believes Nabers embodies the competitive spirit of top receivers.
“The grit, toughness, and tenacity that Nabers exhibits are qualities shared by the best receivers. It’s an intrinsic quality that sets him apart,” shared Schoen.
