Jalen Hurts runs in for a game-winning touchdown. Eagles left tackle Jordan Mailata witnessed the touchdown and made a key block to help pave the way for Hurts to score. Mailata was the first to celebrate with Hurts after the touchdown. After the game, Mailata commented on the play, stating that he couldn’t believe the Bills gave them the look they needed. This play is a staple within their offense, and when they saw the safety move, they knew that Jalen would score. This information caused quite a reaction from Buffalo Bills fans, who blamed their coaching staff for the outcome. Some even went as far as to question the Bills head coach and make comments about the team’s defense. It became clear that the Bills’ safety alignment served as the giveaway to both Mailata and Hurts that a touchdown could be possible.

Looking ahead, it is evident that the Eagles might be getting stronger as they progressed through the 2023 season. Even without starting offensive tackle Lane Johnson, the Eagles were able to pull off a narrow victory. According to Mailata, Hurts should be considered for MVP as he has been a standout player this season. The Eagles are off to a great start this season and look to be a strong contender for the playoffs.
