The Philadelphia Eagles had a rough end to their season, losing six of their final seven games down the stretch. However, despite the team’s struggles, they will be well represented on the NFC Pro Bowl roster, with six players earning nominations.
One of the rising stars for the Eagles is running back D’Andre Swift, who earned his first 1,000-yard season in 2023 and also secured his first Pro Bowl nod. Swift is one of six Birds to initially receive a nomination for the Pro Bowl. Joining Swift are wide receiver A.J. Brown, who will be a starter and is making his third selection. Guard Landon Dickerson, tackle Lane Johnson, and center Jason Kelce will also be representing the Eagles at the Pro Bowl.
In addition to the primary Pro Bowl players, the Eagles had 9 Pro Bowl alternates, including kicker Jake Elliott, quarterback Jalen Hurts, cornerback Darius Slay, return specialist Britain Covey, defensive end Josh Sweat, tackle Jordan Mailata, defensive tackle Jalen Carter, tight end Dallas Goedert, and guard Cam Jurgens.
The Eagles will also have eight players participating in Pro Bowl skills challenges, including Hurts and Slay.
The 2024 Pro Bowl Games will feature the NFL Flag football game and 11 unique skills competitions. In addition to Sunday’s event, ESPN will air the Pro Bowl Skills Show live. The Pro Bowl Skills Show, hosted by Laura Rutledge, will feature the NFL’s top players participating in unique competitions showcasing their on-field and off-field skills.
The Pro Bowl Games skills competitions will have cumulative scoring leading up to the Flag football games on Sunday. The winning conference of each skill competition earns three points towards their team’s overall score. Points from the Flag game will be added to points earned from Skills competitions, ultimately determining the winning conference for the 2024 Pro Bowl Games.
The Pro Bowl will feature several new and fan-favorite skills competitions, including Best Catch, where players will demonstrate creativity, inventiveness, and talent in catching. They will also participate in an accuracy competition, golf accuracy competition, punt catch competition, and a long snapping accuracy contest.
Additionally, there will be dodgeball games, a tic-tac-toe competition for the kickers, and a strength and speed competition for offensive and defensive linemen.
Each of these competitions will showcase the diverse range of skills possessed by NFL players, highlighting their athleticism, teamwork, and competitiveness.
In conclusion, the Philadelphia Eagles may have had a challenging end to their season, but they will be well represented at the 2024 Pro Bowl, with several players earning nominations and participating in skills challenges. The Pro Bowl will be a showcase of the best that the NFL has to offer, and the Eagles will be at the heart of the action.
