Wednesday’s Injury Report

The Eagles participated in a walkthrough. Today’s report is an estimation.

Great news for Eagles fans, tight end Dallas Goedert (forearm) would have been a full participant in today’s practice.

Goedert has been doing everything possible to prepare for his return to the Eagles’ offense. While he has given his forearm injury time to heal, Goedert has been conditioning with the team’s strength and conditioning staff and he’s been in the classroom and, last week, he returned to practice.

On Sunday night, he plans to be on the field against the Dallas Cowboys. Dallas says he’s ready for Dallas.

“I think the likelihood is very high,” Goedert said Wednesday prior to the team’s walkthrough at the NovaCare Complex. “I’m really excited. I was trying to get back last week and it wasn’t quite time, but I think my return is going to be this week, so I’m really excited to go and prepare this week and test it out on the field.

“I feel like I’m in a really good position to come back and play as much as they’ll let me.”

Goedert suffered his injury in the Eagles’ 28-23 victory over Dallas in November and missed the last three games (2 wins). He’s a big part of what the offense is all about – Goedert has 38 receptions for 410 yards and 2 touchdowns this season – and the impact will be profound. Goedert, who said, “I’ll play as long as they let me,” makes big plays as a catch-and-run tight end and he is always an outstanding in-line blocker in the running game.

“Obviously, I don’t want to miss any games, but this is a big game. It’s really fun to go down to Dallas every year and play in a fun environment like that,” Goedert said. “I’m really excited to get back and Dallas in Dallas has a ring to it, so I’m really glad I’m able to go and kind of put everything else to put and play football again.”

Tight end Grant Calcaterra (ankle) would also have been a full participant during Wednesday’s practice.

Wide receiver Julio Jones (groin) and cornerback Darius Slay (rest/knee) would not have practiced on Wednesday.

Linebacker Zach Cunningham (hamstring), who missed last week’s game against the San Francisco 49ers, would have been a limited participant in today’s practice.

Defensive tackle Fletcher Cox (groin) and tight end Jack Stoll (knee) would have been limited participants during Wednesday’s practice.
