Haason Reddick was recently released by CAA, leaving him without representation during his Jets holdout. But now, he has hired Drew Rosenhaus and Ryan Matha, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. Rosenhaus has already engaged with the Jets about the holdout and will be present at the game against the Bills tonight. This new development could lead to progress in negotiations.

“We are eager to work with the Jets to resolve this as quickly as possible,” a statement from Rosenhaus mentioned. “Haason wants to remain a New York Jet for the long term, and our objective is to make that happen.”

The Jets previously made an offer when they acquired Reddick, but subsequent talks did not take place due to the offer being below the market value. Despite the team’s insistence for Reddick to join spring workouts and training camp, he has not done so. A trade request during the summer was denied by Jets GM Joe Douglas.

A recent offer was made to Reddick to compensate for the fines accrued during the holdout and potentially secure a year of service time to maintain his free agency trajectory. However, this offer was rejected, leading to CAA dropping him. The change in representation could lead to positive developments.

With the Jets defense standing strong this season, the loss of Jermaine Johnson to injury created an opportunity for Reddick to contribute. The team sees him in a key role, with his impressive sack record from his time with other teams. The Jets are hopeful for his arrival and impact on the defense.

Currently on the reserve/did not report list, Reddick’s salary cap charge is minimal. Once he is activated, this figure will increase significantly depending on the resolution. With new representatives negotiating, progress is expected in resolving this situation.
