Punishments for finishing last in fantasy football are getting more creative every year.
One person had to play golf in a U.S. Open qualifier, while Will Levis’ league made the loser eat twelve raw hot dogs. And the list of harsh penalties continues to grow.
Now, there’s a new addition to the list: the 24-hour McDonald’s challenge.
The challenge involves spending 24 hours in a McDonald’s, with the option to reduce the time by consuming items from the menu.
Draft analyst Joe DeLeone had to experience this challenge after losing in fantasy football.
I finished in last place in fantasy football, and tomorrow I have to do my punishment.
I have to sit in a McDonald’s for 24 hours unless I can eat my way out of it. Here’s the key I was given by a league mate for what I can eat to shorten my time ⬇️ pic.com/uhgidj67yb— Joe DeLeone (@joedeleone) June 14, 2024
DeLeone managed to cut his time down to 8 hours by consuming specific menu items.
Full Menu:
This punishment forces the loser to spend more time in a fast food restaurant than they would like, with a strategic approach required to reduce the time spent.
DeLeone consumed a total of 16 hours’ worth of food (6,000 calories), opting for items such as big breakfasts, hash browns, McChickens, and apple slices to lessen his time.

- 2 big breakfasts with hot cakes = 240 minutes
- 17 hash browns = 425 minutes
- 4 McChickens = 180 minutes
- 23 apple slices = 115 minutes
DeLeone managed the challenge well, despite the soggy hash browns and will not be returning to McDonald’s anytime soon.
