The hit in question occurred when Greenlaw picked up DeVonta Smith and forcefully slammed him to the ground, sparking a heated exchange between the two teams in front of the Eagles’ bench. The fallout from this clash extended beyond the players, involving Eagles’ senior advisor to the general manager/chief security officer, Dom DiSandro.
As a consequence of the incident, Greenlaw was disqualified from the game, and DiSandro was removed from the sideline for the remainder of the match. However, the drama does not end there, as the NFL has announced that DiSandro will be banned from the sideline for the upcoming Eagles-Cowboys game at AT&T Stadium.

In response to the ban, the Philadelphia Eagles released a statement, saying, “This is an ongoing conversation with the NFL, and we are going to respect the restriction that is currently in place. Although Dom will not be on the sideline this Sunday, he will continue to fulfill his role with the team in all other capacities.”
Despite the tension between the two parties, Greenlaw and DiSandro have reportedly exchanged apologies through intermediaries. In a statement to ESPN, Greenlaw expressed remorse, stating, “He seemed like a genuine guy. Seemed like a guy that everybody loved in the building. So, I hate that, honestly. I really hate that it even escalated and went to that.”

Meanwhile, ESPN reports that additional discipline may be forthcoming as the league continues to review the matter.
In addition to Greenlaw’s fine, Eagles defensive tackle Jalen Carter received a fine of $16,937 for unnecessary roughness during an extra point in the third quarter against the 49ers. Carter’s late hit resulted in his second infraction this season, justifying the higher fine.
