Dolphins

Dolphins HC Mike McDaniel believes that this offseason program is crucial for RB De’Von Achane as he enters his second year in the league.

“Year Two allows you to settle in, understand the reasoning behind everything you do. For him, the more he grasps within the offense, the more opportunities he’ll have to get the ball,” McDaniel said, as reported by ProFootballTalk. “He had great production, but he feels there’s even more he can achieve based on the chances he had last year. Finding different ways to involve him, whether through various pass routes or run schemes, will be key. This offseason provides him with more ways to contribute to the offense and play a significant role. He’s shown strength gains, evident in his physical conditioning. His goal is to fully understand our offense so he can maximize his impact within it.”

Jets

Jets QB Aaron Rodgers acknowledged the pressure to succeed in 2024 but welcomes the challenge.

“If I don’t perform to my capabilities, we might all be out of here,” Rodgers stated, as reported by Zack Rosenblatt of The Athletic. “I thrive under that pressure.”

Jets CB Sauce Gardner noted that Rodgers maintains the same level of energy as he did at the start of last year’s training camp.

“Nothing slows him down,” Gardner remarked. “He’s consistent in his approach.”

Rodgers is motivated to demonstrate that he can still excel as a starting quarterback.

I have plenty of motivation. I love the game. I aim to perform at a high level. I refuse to end my career on a low note,” Rodgers emphasized. “That’s why I put in the work. I have faith in my abilities. Even without pads, I can still deliver top-class throws.”

Patriots

Patriots de-facto GM Eliot Wolf explained that deciding when first-round QB Drake Maye will make his debut will be a collaborative effort. He revealed that QB Jacoby Brissett will begin as the starter during the offseason.

It will be crucial for us to have those discussions,” Wolf shared, as reported by Around The NFL. “For now, it’s Jacoby Brissett. He’s taking the initial reps, and we’re impressed with his performance both on and off the field, especially his throwing ability. Drake Maye has only been with us for three weeks, so there’s plenty of learning ahead for all our rookies as we adapt to Coach (Alex) Van Pelt’s offensive system. We will handle those conversations as they come up, adopting a collaborative approach as we have with other major decisions. All four quarterbacks on our roster are diligent and prepared.”

Wolf emphasized that the situation with former Patriots QB Mac Jones will not dictate Maye’s situation.

Each situation is unique,” Wolf pointed out. “Our key takeaway has been to support not just Drake but all our quarterbacks comprehensively. This includes coaching, off-field assistance, and other resources. We are committed to offering unwavering support to all our quarterbacks.”

Wolf clarified that the team is not solely focused on becoming a playoff contender overnight.

Are the Patriots poised for the playoffs? We’re not fixated on that,” Wolf stated. “We are focused on making progress.”
