The Week 18 Eagles-Giants game was not enjoyable. As someone who only watched the first half, I feel like I’m repeating myself at this point, so this will be a quick recap of the game.

Offense
The game got off to a bad start when the Eagles attempted to block the Giants’ pass rusher with a tight end. This poor game planning was evident from the beginning, and it’s no surprise that the play didn’t work.

The Eagles need to commit to running the ball. The offensive line is playing well, and the team is getting back to its best in terms of running the football. The Eagles need to make the focus of the game running the ball. Kenny Gainwell was performing well in this game, and then for some reason, the Eagles just stopped running. This cannot happen in future games.

I do not harp on the Eagles’ lack of motion and stacks/bunches because I believe the team has the talent on offense to win without the scheme helping them. However, it was clear that this coaching staff had no idea how to scheme open receivers without AJ Brown and DeVonta Smith. The lack of adjustment to their absence was evident.

A simple tunnel screen play sums up everything that is wrong with the Eagles’ offense right now. The fundamentals were incorrect, and the team failed to execute the play effectively. This is a coaching issue that extends to the entire coaching staff.

This team is talented enough to score points against the Bucs’ defense. The offense needs to commit to the run game and play well.

Looking ahead, regardless of the outcome of this game, I expect the offense to undergo a major shakeup in the offseason.

The Eagles must commit to running the ball this week. They have to. This offensive line is really playing well right now, especially on these pin/pull outside zone concepts. The Eagles are really running well from 12 personnel too, and I would make this the focus against the Bucs. Kenny Gainwell was running really well in this game, and then the Eagles just decided to stop running. That can’t happen this week. The Eagles have problems with their pass game, but I think they could have an elite run game. Just run the ball this week. Please. 3) Hey, at least the Eagles Pin/Pull run game is still great! Kenny G went 7-62 and looked good. I might be one of the only people who still care about the Eagles Pin/Pull run game but I’m posting this anyway pic.twitter.com/5mS2waqzlV— Jonny Page (@JonnyPage9) January 8, 2024
