C.J. Gardner-Johnson Hits Long Basketball Shot to Cancel Eagles Team Meeting – SI
Training camp team meetings are not something NFL players love, so when one gets canceled players treat it like a holiday. The entire Philadelphia Eagles roster should be loving teammate C.J. Gardner-Johnson right now. On Wednesday, Gardner-Johnson was allowed to take a long-range basketball shot inside the team’s big meeting room, if he hit it, the meeting was canceled. He hit it, sending the room into absolute euphoria.
Eagles training camp: 14 winners, 7 losers, and 10 IDKs from the first week – BGN
JALEN HURTS. Hurts has looked much better than he did during spring practices. Judging him against his stated standard as a “triple threat,” he’s had success in all three regards. 1) As a passer, Hurts has been very accurate; there haven’t been many off-target throws. 2) As a runner, Hurts looks faster than he did the last time we saw him play. 3) In the mental aspect, Hurts has largely been decisive and he’s avoided putting the ball in harm’s way. There are still times when he’s been holding onto the ball longer than you’d like to see but the positive outweighs the negative thus far. Hurts is off to an encouraging start.
Coaching Update – Iggles Blitz
The Eagles have done some blitzing in camp, but we won’t really know if this is fixed until the regular season when opposing teams get creative and aggressive. We do know that Moore has made schematic changes. Pre-snap motion is a regular part of the Eagles offense this summer. They use some jet motion and have even handed the ball to the guy in motion a few times. We know receivers are moving around and not lining up in the same spot over and over. A small thing like that makes it harder on the defense. They aren’t getting static looks so they have to be prepared for different things. We’re seeing other changes.
Fantasy Football Player Profile 2024: Philadelphia Eagles WR A.J. Brown – PFF
The main factor that could impact Brown’s performance is Kellen Moore’s offensive scheme. One consistent aspect of Moore’s approach is that he runs a lot of plays, which should benefit everyone in the Eagles offense. However, his pass rate has varied based on his personnel, and the Eagles have the flexibility to be either a pass-first or run-first offense, depending on their personnel. The biggest concern is that Moore’s top wide receivers in recent seasons, CeeDee Lamb and Keenan Allen, played outside in two-receiver sets and in the slot in three-receiver sets. The Eagles added slot receivers recently, and DeVonta Smith has played better in the slot than out wide. Brown seems the least likely to get playing time in the slot, although he will still play there occasionally. It’s worth noting that Mike Williams averaged 16.7 PPR points per game in Moore’s offense before his injury last season, and Amari Cooper had WR10 and WR15 seasons in Moore’s offense while playing predominantly outside. Brown is the best player of the three and should still thrive, but there is a chance he will lose some targets to Smith if Smith breaks out in the offense. Brown will continue to catch passes from Jalen Hurts, which has been a largely positive experience. Hurts scrambles more than most quarterbacks and takes a lot of touchdowns, which will continue to be true, but he’s also led a high-scoring offense, which means there are plenty of yards and touchdowns to go around.

Sheil is joined by Brandon Lee Gowton of Bleeding Green Nation who was at Eagles training camp on Tuesday and made some astute observations about what he’s seen so far. Will 2023 first-round pick Nolan Smith make an impact this year based off of what he’s done at camp so far? How different has the offense looked under Kellen Moore in training camp? Will 2024 first-round pick Quinyon Mitchell be receiving a lot of snaps at CB2 this season with how good he’s been at camp? Plus, is Jalen Carter underrated?

Surviving Camp with Jalyx Hunt, Part 1: How many people at a practice!? – NBCSP
And after a strong start to his rookie training camp, he can’t wait to get across the street for the Eagles’ public practice at Lincoln Financial Field on Thursday night. Is he ready to practice in front of 50,000 people? “Fifty!?” Hunt said. “On Thursday!? For practice!?” He had no idea. Maybe I shouldn’t have brought it up. Maybe this is gonna psyche him out. We laugh about it for a while before Hunt tries to envision what it’ll be like to practice in front of that many fans…
