With wild card weekend fast approaching, betting lines are getting a ton of attention and opinions are split. Will the Miami Dolphins and Kansas City Chiefs combine for a bunch of points? Can the Tampa Bay Buccaneers take the Philadelphia Eagles out of their misery? There are so many questions and so few answers until the action gets started Saturday. To hopefully help point bettors in the right direction, I took my favorite bets from the BetMGM lines of each playoff game, and ranked them in terms of confidence. This is the power ranking of my favorite picks from each game. I like Houston to come out on top against Cleveland, but how confident could I be picking an underdog with a rookie quarterback going against the best defense in football? Exactly. So they take the last spot in my rankings. I do not think the Steelers win, but I refuse to lay this many points against a Mike Tomlin-coached team in the playoffs. Especially considering Josh Allen is still having problems with turnovers and Pittsburgh’s defense is formidable enough to continue that trend. It’s just hard to be more confident than No. 5 when Mason Rudolph is the quarterback in what will be some frigid weather. This is a game that I honestly have no read on whatsoever. But I’ll pick up three points for a home dog going against this shell version of the Eagles. The Bucs have great receivers who can beat Philadelphia’s secondary. My only question is if a banged up Baker Mayfield can take advantage. I also like the Cowboys to cover 7.5 points, but I felt a little better about the total here. Especially at home, I think Dak Prescott and the Cowboys could have a huge game passing the ball and put up a ton of points. But I’m also not sleeping on the potential for Jordan Love and Green Bay to continue their passing tear and contribute to this total. This is another game where I struggled to pick a favorite because I really like Miami +4. Ultimately, though, I lean towards the under more than anything. This game is going to be played in freezing temperatures that lend to run-heavy game-plans, and it’s not like these once high-powered offenses have been firing on all cylinders lately anyway. This is my favorite bet of all the wild card weekend lines. Detroit’s secondary is vulnerable and Matthew Stafford is coming home. I expect the Rams to put up points, and I think the Lions respond accordingly. This is going to be the highest-scoring game of the weekend, just as the total suggests.
