Browns
Despite exploring potential replacements for the injured LT Jedrick Wills and RT Jack Conklin, reports suggest that the Browns are not actively seeking to replace them on the offensive line.
“I hear the Browns ‘feel good’ about the offensive line,” according to Cleveland.com’s Terry Pluto. “They believe Dawand Jones may soon be a Pro Bowler. They are ‘bullish’ on how Jedrick Wills Jr. finished the season. They hope Jack Conklin can stay healthy, giving them three starting caliber tackles.”
Ravens
The new Ravens DC, Zach Orr, plans to leverage his playing experience with the team in his new role in Baltimore. He steps in for Mike Macdonald, who has been hired as the new head coach of the Seahawks.
“When you play the game, you have the experience of actually being on the field in the cleats,” Orr mentioned via RavensWire.com. “Playing helps you understand specific situations. However, coaching and playing are different. As a coach, it’s about what your players know and how you can teach and prepare them.”
Steelers
Despite battling injuries throughout the 2023 season and undergoing groin surgery afterwards, Steelers DL Cameron Heyward faced some fan backlash for not retiring to avoid his $22 million cap hit for 2024.
“Funny how you get hurt and push yourself to play without being 100 percent. Now they want you to retire because I was injured all year,” Heyward expressed on social media. “At least I know where y’all stand. You forget quickly when I’m healthy…. But I look forward to reminding you.”
