Throughout the 2023 NFL season, Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin has been a strong favorite for the league’s Comeback Player of the Year award.

Following behind Hamlin, there have been some changes in the odds, with Tua Tagovailoa being the most consistent at BetMGM.

However, a new contender to emerge in recent weeks is Aaron Rodgers, who suffered a torn Achilles early in the season. Despite this injury, he has seen his odds to win CPOY improve, climbing from +2800 to +2000 by Week 13. Although his odds currently sit at +2500, ranking sixth best, it is still a risky bet.

It is important to note that the odds of betting on Rodgers for this award are not in favor. Despite the report of his likely medical clearance to play, the Jets’ elimination from playoff contention raises questions about the viability of Rodgers achieving this award.

While Rodgers would be a worthy candidate for the award if he were to return from his injury within the same season, it is unlikely he will have enough reason to do so. With no playoff berth in sight, his motivation to return is questionable. Even if he does decide to play, he would still need to overcome several challenges to remain a legitimate candidate for the award.
