Let’s get to the Philadelphia Eagles links …
2024 NFL OTAs: Players who surprised us most at minicamp – ESPN
CB Isaiah Rodgers Sr. Rodgers was suspended for the entire 2023 season for violating the league’s gambling policy but has not shown much rust this offseason. He got work at outside corner with the first team, splitting time with second-year CB Kelee Ringo, who has also impressed. Rodgers opened some eyes during an OTA practice in late May when he broke on a short pass from Jalen Hurts and swooped in for the interception. “For a guy that has not played football for a year, coming back, he looks like he has been playing nonstop,” receiver A.J. Brown said. “He’s flying around, and he’s going to do special stuff for us this year.” It will be a fascinating competition for the starting spot opposite Darius Slay Jr. this summer, with Rodgers, Ringo, and rookie first-round pick Quinyon Mitchell all vying for the spot.
Eagles Rookie Profile: 6 things to know about Trevor Keegan – BGN
5) How do you see his NFL career playing out? It doesn’t matter where you’re drafted, it’s all about who drafts you, and the Eagles are a perfect landing spot. Philadelphia is as good as any team in the league developing offensive linemen. Keegan took reps at both guard and center at the Senior Bowl and I’ll be interested to see what position he’ll ultimately play in the NFL. However, the fact that he’s now with the Eagles has me believing he could have a long NFL career and potentially be one of the steals in the late rounds of the 2024 draft.
Oh, The Leads That You’ll Blow: A Children’s Book Sequel About the San Francisco Forty-Whiners – PhillyVoice
But Shanahan and the coaches were revealed to be fools, When the players didn’t know the overtime rules. In the end it would be Kyle’s personal hell, Three 10-point leads, three Super Bowl L’s.
Jason Kelce on Grilling, Tailgating, and Getting Extra-Famous Right Before Retiring – GQ
Well, I mean, listen: Everybody exits the league with some type of impediment. I’ve had a twice-reconstructed right knee, a surgery on my hand, my groin. I’ve broken toes. I’ve had my share of things that have gone wrong, not to mention just the wear and tear of playing 13 years in the NFL. So I’m leaving the game with those scars, but for all intents and purposes, I can play with my kids. I am still able to fully enjoy life, which I consider a blessing whether you played in the NFL or not. As far as the weight is concerned, I weighed 295 for the majority of my NFL career, and I look forward to losing some of those pounds. I don’t want to get too small. I think a lot of guys, especially offensive linemen, they lose too much weight, and then they look like bobbleheads because their neck gets so small, but their head stays the same size. So for me, I feel like for some reason, 250 to 260 feels like I’ll be still big and be happy with the way I look without having a six-pack. But I’ll still be able to have that stature a little bit. Right now, I’m about 277. I’m almost 20 pounds down right now. It’s hard to imagine another nearly 20 pounds coming off, being honest with you. But my back already feels better. My knees already feel better. So another 20 pounds hopefully will make that much more adept at playing with my children.
Poll: How many games do the Dallas Cowboys have the better quarterback in 2024? – Blogging The Boys
Could an argument be made that Dak had a better and more MVP-worthy season than Jackson in 2023? Maybe, but even then it was Lamar’s second MVP. The data is overwhelming in that sense. Joe Burrow may have missed a ton of last season due to injury but is not someone you should bet against. We are talking about two of the five best quarterbacks in the NFL and maybe Dak is on that list, but if he is it is probably at number five behind these two. All told this gives Dallas an advantage (based on my super precise analysis) in 12 games across the season. If we assume they win a majority of those and steal a couple of others, then they will probably land somewhere around 10-12 wins. What a shock, given everything we have seen over the last three years!
Evan Neal getting one more chance with New York Giants – Big Blue View
How long is Neal’s 2024 leash? What is the bar Neal has to meet or exceed to stay at right tackle this season? I’m not sure even the Giants know the answers to those questions. There is, though, a Plan B in place. The Giants signed veteran offensive lineman Jermaine Eluemunor in free agency. They plan to play him at left guard, but Eluemunor played successfully at right tackle for new Giants offensive line coach Carmen Bricillo while the two were with the Las Vegas Raiders the past two seasons. Eluemunor was PFF’s 24th-ranked tackle (out of 57) in 2022 and 38th (out of 56) in 2023. If Neal flops, Eluemunor would likely move out to right tackle with Aaron Stinnie the leading candidate right now to take over at left guard. What becomes of Neal should that happen? Maybe he gets moved to guard and competes for that left guard spot. Maybe he becomes a swing tackle. Maybe he ends up buried as a weekly inactive player. Maybe the Giants look to move on from him, getting whatever they can in a deal. The Giants, though, hope they don’t have to cross that bridge.
Can Jeremy Chinn find consistency in Washington? – Hogs Haven
The Commanders have a log jam at the safety position heading into training camp. One of the new safeties, Jeremy Chinn, is escaping somewhat of a tumultuous finish to his time with the Carolina Panthers. He took a one-year deal in Washington under new head coach Dan Quinn, presumably hoping for stability and that Washington’s coaching staff would understand where his best fit is on the field. Chinn still has to do better on the field, too, as it was never all on the Panthers staff as to why things went downhill for him in Carolina. Sheena Quick, a Panthers beat reporter for 1340 FoxSports Radio, joined the Trap or Podcast to discuss how his last season went with Carolina. Quick acknowledged that Chinn did not fit in Panthers DC Ejiro Evero’s defense last year but has never been strong in coverage. Some of Chinn’s struggles also contributed to the significant drop in his snap percentage with the Panthers.
Spencer Rattler could be the Saints’ starting quarterback soon, and here’s why – SB Nation
The Saints have one devil they know, and one they’re still learning about the other one. They can stick with Derek Carr’s standard means of production, and in the short term, they probably will. But there will inevitably and invariably come a time when something more “interesting” is required of their quarterback, and it may be then that Rattler gets his shot. There’s the preseason to build on, and we’ll see what happens from there. But when you go under the hood, the specter of a fifth-round quarterback usurping a guy with $100 million guaranteed in his current contract might not be as crazy as it seems.
