It appears that the recent A.J. Brown trade rumors and concerns can now be put to rest.

For weeks, the All-Pro wideout for the Philadelphia Eagles has been the topic of trade discussions and speculations. However, he recently called in to 94.1 WIP, Philly’s premier sports radio station, to address the rumors and express his frustrations with the way his time with the organization has been portrayed.

“What’s going on?” Brown questioned during his appearance on the afternoon show hosted by former Eagle Ike Reese and Jack Fritz. “You guys are supposed to be supporting Philly, but it seems like that’s not the case. Why create so many rumors that are baseless and unfounded? These aren’t real rumors; they are fabricated by you guys and spread by everyone.”

Despite Brown’s impressive performance on the field, breaking team records in receptions for a single season with 106 catches and accumulating nearly 3,000 yards since joining the Eagles, his leadership has come under scrutiny. This scrutiny escalated when he chose to refrain from speaking to the media during the team’s late-season struggles.

While Brown had previously explained his decision to avoid the media, he openly expressed his disdain during the radio interview on Friday.

“No matter what I say, it gets twisted by the media. It wasn’t the Eagles’ actions or statements; it was my words. I didn’t want to put my team in a difficult position, so I chose to remain silent,” Brown explained.

Throughout the interview, Brown vehemently defended his actions on the field, which at times led to questions about his relationship with the team, as well as his connection with quarterback Jalen Hurts.

“I believe that’s unfair,” Brown asserted when discussing his rapport with Hurts. “I won’t delve into our relationship publicly…this wasn’t an issue during my six-game streak. It only became a topic of discussion when we began losing.”

Regarding the future of his tenure with the Eagles, despite the organization denying any trade rumors and most media outlets refuting such claims, rumors continued to circulate, seeking to assign blame for the team’s struggles towards the end of the 2023 season.

“People wonder what went wrong, but we weren’t playing like the best team from the start. We may have had the best record initially, but later it became a downward spiral that we couldn’t halt,” Brown reflected.

Brown is now focused on the upcoming season alongside Hurts and the rest of the Eagles squad. Despite the erroneous trade talks, the vocal player reiterated his commitment to the team, emphasizing that there is no other place he would rather be.

“I want to remain with the Eagles…it’s that simple.”
